The Summer Fellowship Program was developed to provide students with an opportunity to contribute to real-world business innovations through a full 3-month immersion in the practice of Business Design. This unique internship program is designed to groom the next generation of business designers while developing industry solutions that compete in a global marketplace.

Program Details
The program provides selected students with an opportunity to apply their learning and skills to important real-world innovation opportunities. This is conducted in a multi-disciplinary, collaborative format that leverages the comprehensive, design-based innovation framework developed at Rotman DesignWorks.

Over a period of 12 weeks, students work on an intense problem solving exercise to create new opportunities for the client. A combination of lectures, workshops, and seminars serve to provide guidance and structure to the process. Facilitators, drawn from academia and industry, are on hand to offer day-to-day coaching on methodology and business thinking.

At the end of the Summer, students will have completed need-finding research, development of breakthrough business solutions, and translation of solutions into a viable business model that creates new value for the enterprise (client) and advances competitiveness.
