The Business Design Program offers a variety of experiential learning opportunities for MBA students. Each component helps students understand how design thinking can enhance enterprise growth and success, and provides them with opportunities to translate theory and principles into practice. The program includes:
Business Design Practicum
The Business Design Practicum is an elective MBA course that gives students hands-on learning about Business Design principles, frameworks and methods. Over a period of 13 weeks, students learn how to develop deep user understanding, create breakthrough solutions and design new strategic business models. Click here to learn more.
Innovation, Foresight and Business Design
A great complement to the Business Design Practicum, this course aims to prepare the MBA candidate for the ambiguous challenge of creating and supporting a real culture of innovation within a framework of an organization.
Design VISA
An extracurricular, 6-session series that introduces students to the foundational mindsets, methods, and thinking skills of Business Design. Students learn how to infuse creativity into business activities through various methods such as need-finding, ideation, visualization, systems mapping and creative communication..
Business Design Bootcamps
One-day workshops aimed at exposing first-year MBA students to the overall Business Design framework, and provide them with an opportunity to experience a rapid run-through of the end-to-end process. Click here to see the Bootcamp movie.
Business Design Club
An MBA student-run club that is dedicated to providing students with opportunities to learn about Business Design and a variety of other design thinking topics. Offerings include company visits, portfolio reviews, curated events, career panels, and 'fire-side chats' with leading practitioners. Click here to learn more.
Case Competitions
An annual, now international, student-run Business Design case competition in which students compete for the most compelling and innovative solution to a design challenge.
Business Design Tours
World-wide tours aimed at providing students insights into how Business Design is practiced within a variety of organizations.
